The CBT and Genus Capital Management are pleased to provide two Education Awards annually to graduating high school students OR to individuals who have graduated from high school within the last 12 months. Students must be planning to begin their post-secondary education in September or January following their acceptance of the award. Each award is valued at $3000 per year for a maximum of four years ($12,000 in total), and are awarded based on a combination of:

  • Community Involvement (e.g. participation in local cultural initiatives, volunteer projects, sports, arts groups)
  • Personal Reference Letters (supporting your application for the Education Award)
  • Proposed Education Plan (outlining what you plan to study, where, how, and why)
  • Academic Achievement

Clayoquot Biosphere Education Award

This Education Award is available to local graduating high school students, or recent high school graduates (within the last 12 months), who live in and attend school in the Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Region (Ucluelet Secondary School, Maaqtusiis Secondary School, and the Hesquiaht Place of Learning).

Central Region Nuu-chah-nulth Student Award

This Education Award is given annually to a Central Region Nuu-chah-nulth student. The student does not have to be residing in the Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Region (i.e. the student can be attending high school elsewhere in British Columbia or Canada) To have your application considered, you must be a member of the Hesquiaht, Ahousaht, Tla-o-qui-aht, Ucluelet or Toquaht Nation and you must graduate the year the scholarship is offered.
