CBT is proud to be a Community Foundation

This Friday there will be a ceremony to officially honour the Tofino Wah-ha-jus Hilth-hoo-is Mudflats as a site of regional importance in the Western Hemisphere Shorebird Reserve Network (WHSRN). This honour has come after more than a decade of hard work by a group of dedicated individuals who recognized the critical importance of the mudflats habitat to migratory and resident shorebirds and waterfowl. Some of these birds begin their journey north in Panama! Much like the biosphere reserve designation, a WHSRN designation raises the profile of this location on an international scale.
