CBT Grants

Our funding - from small to large - promotes the health of individuals, communities and ecosystems throughout the Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Region. Each granting stream is supported by its own Advisory Committee comprised of local volunteers with interest and expertise relevant to the specific grant. Advisory Committees review proposals and make funding recommendations to the CBT Board of Directors.

Community Services Recovery Fund
CBT is coordinating the local delivery of $115,000 from the Federal Government's $400M Community Services Recovery Fund, which supports charities and non-profits as they focus on how to adapt their organizations for pandemic recovery. The minumum grant request amount is $10,000.

Now more than ever, charities and non-profits are playing a key role in addressing persistent and complex social problems faced by all communities. The Community Services Recovery Fund responds to what charities and non-profits need right now and supports organizations as they adapt to the long-term impacts of the pandemic.

Funding Timeline
Applications open: January 6, 2023
Deadline to apply: February 21, 2023

Funding Priorities
Applications will be evaluated by a local group of volunteers, making this process "by the community, for the community." Funding from the Community Services Recovery Fund will enable charities, non-profits and Indigenous Governing Bodies to invest in their own organizational capacity to:

  • Adapt the way they deliver services to support the needs of their staff and volunteers
  • Buy equipment such as computers and software
  • Create new ways of working, such as developing new fundraising approaches
  • Provide support for staff and volunteers, such as staff training, supports for mental health and wellbeing
  • Develop plans to receive funding from diverse sources
