The Biosphere Centre Fund supports the establishment of a permanent home for the CBT to deliver programs and projects. The Biosphere Centre will be a central place for convening the region to achieve our vision of living sustainably in a healthy ecosystem, with a diversified economy and strong, vibrant and united cultures.
The Biosphere Research Fund supports local research that addresses marine and terrestrial ecosystem threats with the goal to identify opportunities for increased management and protection of unique coastal ecosystems.
The Clayoquot Sound Wild Salmon Fund supports salmon enhancement, stock rebuilding and recovery initiatives as prioritized within the Clayoquot Sound Salmon Recovery Plan. Each year funds are directed towards local habitat restoration, stewardship, education, research and monitoring led by local organizations and researchers within the watershed of Clayoquot Sound (Fisheries Management Area 24).
The Clayoquot Sustainability Fund supports projects in the areas of education, protection, and conservation of the natural ecosystems in the Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Region. Tofino Resort + Marina contributes revenue alongside guests who contribute 1% of all resort, adventure and marina purchases.
The Debbie Mundy Memorial Scholarship will be given to an Indigenous student(s) each time CBT hosts Leadership Vancouver Island in the region so they can participate in this accredited 10-month community leadership program.
The nuučaan̓uł (Nuu-chah-nulth) Language Revitalization Fund supports nuučaan̓uł language revitalization within the Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Region. This includes the nuučaan̓uł Languages of hiškʷiiʔatḥ (Hesquiaht First Nation), ʕaaḥuusʔatḥ (Ahousaht), ƛaʔuukʷiʔatḥ (Tla-o-qui-aht First Nations), Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ (Ucluelet First Nation), and tukʷaaʔatḥ (Toquaht Nation).
Your donation will be endowed and used to support CBT programs and research in perpetuity.
Pacific Rim Arts Society is a volunteer-based, non-profit society serving the districts of Tofino and Ucluelet, and First Nations communities in the Biosphere Region. PRAS envisions a lively, diverse, and self-sustaining arts and culture sector that is an integral part of healthy and viable communities.
The Pacific Rim Foundation Fund provides an annual grant to the Pacific Rim Foundation for the purpose of providing scholarships and bursaries to students in the Pacific Rim Region.
Growing up on the ocean presents many opportunities for the children in our communities. From surfing to canoe journeys, being on and in the water is a part of growing up in Tofino. It is our wish that all children have an opportunity to learn how to swim so they can build confidence, enjoy a healthy and fun activity, and participate safely in everything our spectacular backyard has to offer.
Our goal is to build an endowment fund that will annually fund swimming lessons for all students at Wickaninnish Community School. The income will support travel and other costs related to swimming and water safety lessons for students. Funds may be used for children who are home-schooled, as well as for elementary school aged children living in Clayoquot Sound who may travel to Tofino for lessons.
The Tofino Community Fund supports and enriches life for those living in Tofino. This community-specific endowment fund allows donors to provide lasting support for community needs. This fund was established in 2019 in memory of Councillor Dorothy Baert, but is not limited to donations by her friends and family, nor is it limited to donations in her memory. The fund will be grown over time for the long-term benefit of the many organizations that enrich the lives of Tofitians.
The Tofino Saltwater Classic Fund supports organizations and projects that improve community and ecosystem health in the Clayoquot Biosphere Region. Proceeds from the Tofino Saltwater Classic annual fishing derby are donated and granted annually.
The purpose of the Fund is to support the Nuu-chah-nulth Warrior Program to provide resources and training opportunities in the Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Region that support healthy youth development and empowerment and to enable youth to travel for Nation to Nation training opportunities. This fund holds capital to support the planning, construction, maintenance, and future upgrade of the West Coast Multiplex, a regional-scale indoor athletic and recreation space. The project will consist of a swimming pool and a multi-use arena, and possible later phases.
The CBT manages the West Coast Multiplex Fund to support the vision of the West Coast Multiplex Society, the non-profit organization developing this much-needed recreational facility to serve multi-generational families and to meet the growing needs of the 8 west coast communities.
The West Coast N.E.S.T. fund supports higher education, capacity building and education tourism programs in the Biosphere Region.
