Why is it the Clayoquot Biosphere Trust’s role to lead a project like the development of the Biosphere Centre?

Positioned at the intersection of community, environment, culture, and long-term regional planning, the Clayoquot Biosphere Trust is uniquely suited to lead this project. Through our Vital Signs research and years of community engagement, we consistently heard the same themes: communities needed shared infrastructure, year-round educational opportunities, spaces for collaboration, Indigenous-led programming, workforce development, and stronger resilience in the face of climate and economic pressures.

The Biosphere Centre emerged directly from those conversations. It is not a standalone project created in isolation, it is the result of years of identified community need, regional collaboration, and long-term visioning around what this region requires to thrive into the future.
