CBT Grants

Our funding - from small to large - promotes the health of individuals, communities and ecosystems throughout the Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Region. Each granting stream is supported by its own Advisory Committee comprised of local volunteers with interest and expertise relevant to the specific grant. Advisory Committees review proposals and make funding recommendations to the CBT Board of Directors.

Community Prosperity Fund
We are taking part in delivering the Community Prosperity Fund a $25 million investment from the Government of B.C. that advances poverty reduction and social inclusion in local communities. Our region has received a total of $125,000.

The Government of B.C. recognizes that non-profits are vital to people and communities in B.C. They are important partners, often providing services to those made vulnerable in all corners of British Columbia. The Community Prosperity Fund will support organizations by providing funding for up to three years to drive positive change in our communities.

Funding Priorities

Every community is unique, and so are their needs. You know this, and review committees do, too. The CBT will ensure your application will be reviewed at the local level. The Community Prosperity Fund also gives you the space to complete your best work. You have up to three years for your activities, giving you space to implement the funding over time and in a way that works best for your organization. What if you only need one year? That’s also great. You know best what you need.

You can apply to support your operational expenses, expand a current project, or create a new one. It’s up to you! You get to decide what would benefit your organization most so that you can continue the incredible work that benefits the community to advance poverty reduction and social inclusion

Visit the Vancouver Foundation’s website to find out more about how to apply, explore resources, and submit your application.

The Alberni Clayoquot Health Network (ACHN) has developed a regional plan, the Alberni Clayoquot Poverty Reduction Action Plan as well as the ACHN Building Equity Toolkit. We are grateful for these valuable resources, which offer tools and strategies to tackle poverty and raise awareness of equity issues affecting local communities. These documents provide crucial insights into the region's most pressing needs and outline a collaborative path forward toward developing more inclusive systems for all. We encourage you to use these resources to inform your application.

In decision making the Community Prosperity Fund Advisory Committee will prioritize projects that have the biggest impact on those with the greatest need.
